The Challenge
Moraine Park Technical College is a locally governed, public, postesecondary
educational institution, focused on meeting the educational needs of
district citizeds. Convertional tool and die shops are facing the challenge
of receiving 3D design data from their vendors on a
daily basis.
The Solution
The changing of 2D culture of tool and die industries by introducing the
mainstream 3D standard, SolidWorks and 3DQuickPress, into the
curriculum. the college has been teaching drafting and design subjects which
cover 2D mechanical design and the advanced 3D modeling using these world
leading CAD systems. Teaching team introduced the new course 3DQuickPress
for Stamping Die Design which practice within 3DQuickPress for creating a 3D
model of a die from a single part file.
