Create a section view driven die set structure

Section Driven Die Set Structure

Background

Die set structure (DSS) in 3DQuickPress is used to drive component related to the die set. Modify Die set Structure  or 3DQuickPress, Die set, Thickness are functions used to modify die set structure. As Die set structure varies from company to company or from press to press. Section driven die set structure is a more proper way to define die set structure which is easier to edit and closer to the actual die set user using.

Warning: Once all the reference planes are redefined, the die set structure CANNOT BE EDITED BY Modify Die set Structure   and 3DQuickPress, Die set, Thickness

Case study

Create a die set structure with parallels and no Die Plate back up.

Procedures

Remove Die backup plate

          Use 3DQuickPress, 3DQuickTools, Utilities, Assembly Utilities…

Set Reference plate die backup plate to Zero

          Use 3DQuickPress Navigator

Create Die set cross section

Show all reference plane for reference

Delete relations related to the planes

Re-define all reference planes by cross section

Test the modification

Create layout sketch for parallel

Use part for 2D layout design which can be inserted to any die set sub-assembly

Use Block to reuse layout sketch

Create Parallel

          Use temporary solid for visualization

            Use component pattern

Clean up the section

Drag the die set size before section sketch

Use die set width to drive the section width

Create drawing for the Die set

            Modify die set in drawing
