3D QuickTools Ltd. was founded by Dr. Pierre Lui and Micky Ng in 2002. Later a group of experienced tooling specialists and CAD/CAM programmers joined and transformed the company to the largest Hong Kong based CAD developer. The founders used to develop mold design applications on Unigraphics™ and SOLIDWORKS™ before 2002.
The first commercial success Dr. Lui and Micky brought to the market was 3DQuickPress to enable tooling engineers to use the power of 3D design. 3DQuickPress got the support and applause from SOLIDWORKS Corporation and many famous tooling companies even before the initial product launch. The die design system is based on SOLIDWORKS platform to take the benefits of its powerful modeling capabilities. The company concentrates to develop trade-specific functions to make 3DQuickPress the best-in-class solution to the metal manufacturing industries. 3DQuickPress became SOLIDWORKS Certified Gold Product in 2006.
In 2005, 3D QuickTools lined up with ESI Group, the French global leader in virtual prototyping. The co-developed product, 3DQuickForm, was launched in 2005. It became one of the most preferred stamping simulation software offering accurate blank prediction at affordable price. Today almost one third of the new customers purchase 3DQuickForm with 3DQuickPress to handle stamping of complex form.
3D QuickTools has resellers all over the world. Most of them are specialized in technical support and consultancy. Customers are coming from automobile, aircraft, electronics, and medical industries located in USA, Canada, Germany, and Japan.
In 2009, 3DQuickMold was introduced to the world market to complement the need for plastic mold design solution for existing customers as well as new SOLIDWORKS customers who need a professional mold design solution.
With the team’s dedication and steady product enhancements, 3D QuickTools is perceived as the premium supplier of 3D die and mold design solutions used by many successful industrial customers. The company got the Hong Kong Information, Collaboration and Technology Awards in 2010 which was the highest recognition for efficient tech business model achievement.
From 2016, 3D QuickTools expands its capacity to focus on advanced CAE consultancy to fulfill the need of complex structural analysis in Hong Kong market. Our technical team is certified by key CAE suppliers to provide services to different Hong Kong disciplines.
